A Brand New Day

This is truly a historic time. There are many ideas stirring about the future of our country and where things will lead for us locally, and I am excited and a bit nervous. I am not nervous for the same reasons others are however. You see a lot of individuals out there afraid for where our country is heading because of the election results, but these people are failing to see one of the most important factors at play in this situation. We are in the great United States. We tend to forget the limited power one person has in our government that was, to be quite frank, designed with the specific purpose to limit the power of one individual in our government. Should one person be able to do the ridiculous things that people are claiming they can then we wouldn’t be living in a democracy, we would be living in conditions comparable if not more deplorable than those we have fought to change in other oppressed countries. We need to not let bias get in the way of simple logic. I don’t want this to come across as though I was partial to one of the two mainstream candidates...because to be honest, I think I would have been quite satisfied with a None-of-the-above option. I just hope people will see things clearly.
On the other hand there are many ideas and events that are quite positive, such as the passing of the Bond for our school district. This will be a great asset to our children’s future.
I am deeply saddened however by the recent loss of Jeremy Bowles, and it is honestly not the same world with out him in it. My heart goes out to his family, and I hope that others will find inspiration in his life and determination, just as I have. It has been a changing week for sure.
On a side note I would like to also comment that I am thankful that our local Sheriffs department appears to be confident that they are going to catch those responsible for the recent burglaries. Anyway, a bit chaotic of a post today but I guess I just have a lot in my head that is pouring out in a way that may or may not make actual sense.
